Flow Ledger
Editorial Method
How Flow Ledger turns workflow questions into practical, bounded field briefs.
Flow Ledger starts with the work, not a product category. Our method uses five checks.
1. Name the decision
We identify the decision that changes the path. We ask who has authority, what evidence they need, and how the result stays with the case.
2. Draw the exception
We include missing information, conflict, delay, delegation, rejection, and system failure. A normal path is not a complete workflow.
3. Follow elapsed time
We distinguish active work from waiting. This prevents activity counts from standing in for the reader’s or requester’s experience.
4. Check reversibility
We apply stronger review to actions that affect rights, money, sensitive data, or outcomes that are hard to reverse.
5. Keep the operating record
We expect a system to preserve who acted, what changed, why a decision occurred, and which definition applied. We do not recommend fabricated precision when the evidence is incomplete.
Our briefs provide general operational information. Readers must apply their own policies, laws, contracts, security requirements, and professional advice.
